A friend of mine started a group, the Gizmo Dojo, on MeetUp and asked me if I would be interested in teaching a jewelry class. I had never taught a class before, but I though it would be great for personal growth and although I was quite nervous, I thought I'd give it a try.
I taught a Beginner Bailing Class. Bailing is a technique of bending and wrapping wire with beads to create a chain. Also it can be used to create a hanger out of wire for a pendant bead. This technique is common in a lot of jewelry types but is mostly seen in bracelets and necklaces.
I created a slide show presentation and had poster board drawn diagrams, as well as some of my own jewelry pieces that were created using that technique. It seemed to go well and I'm pretty sure everyone had fun!
IF you are interested in learning almost ANYTHING, the Gizmo Dojo will probably be teaching a class on it.
